Country Home

This cottage style country farmhouse, set down a lane in a Wiltshire village was a far cry from the cutting edge style of our clients – fashion designers with markets from the UK to the Far East.    Beautiful new walnut floors replaced earlier but rotten boards and old fireplaces pared back to their original simple style in keeping with the original house. We commissioned a bespoke table in the dining room to reflect this simplicity while having a contemporary feel and the cool greys and pale lilacs marry with modern fabrics and squashy leather sofas produce a restful feel in the sitting room.

Arts and Crafts Farmhouse

Surrounded by its land and set at the bottom of a long private drive this 7 bedroom house, was built in the late 18th century and redesigned in 1924 in the late Arts and Crafts style.  As well as some decoration to the main house we were privileged to completely design the interior of the new annexe; the conversion from original barns. Although the building has underfloor heating and modern lighting we took the lead from the owners love of the Arts and Crafts period sourcing furniture and designing fitted furniture which reflected this. The interior is therefore comfortable and welcoming with bedrooms which are quite sparse in style. The new rooms were an opportunity to hang some of the owners’ extensive picture collection. As no separate kitchen was allowed under the planning regulations we designed a large Arts and Crafts style cupboard which houses everything required but once closed looks like a rather good piece of furniture.

Village Manor House

The large, two storey sitting Room of this Wiltshire manor House was cold and uninviting but had some interesting detailing in the beamed roof and grand staircase. To bring warmth to the room we designed bookcases along one wall and formed a relaxed area in one corner. Adding a mixture of large and comfortable bespoke sofas and armchairs around the fire gives the room an inviting, comfortable look.  The Lutron programmable lighting system can enhance any activity from a quiet evening with friends to a large party. In contrast the major bathroom is completely modern with central oval bath and matching basins.
