Inner Space, under the leadership of Diane Robinson, has worked on large and small projects for both private and corporate clients: in beautiful country homes, prestigious hotels, public schools, churches and commercial premises bringing to each its own unique atmosphere to reflect the wishes and personality of the client.
Our service is comprehensive and ranges from the ‘lifting’ of a tired interior to complete refurbishment. We are trained interior designers experienced in managing projects from small building works to the final decorative accessories and work with beautiful products from some of the world’s most prestigious design houses. We also commission bespoke pieces from exceptional craftsmen to complete a stunning home. Our team of craftspeople are dedicated to producing work of the highest quality.
When carrying out a major project we are pleased to work with the clients’ architect or engage our own. We believe that a successful refurbishment begins with the structure and how the space will be used; planning for electrics in the right place and plumbing which works before proceeding to the decorative details, furniture and fittings.
Working with historic buildings is a particular expertise. We work sympathetically with the structure and the architectural elements, restoring their original beauty through the skill of dedicated craftsmen. Modern taste, however, can dictate a more contemporary approach to the decoration and it is a pleasure to produce a design which fulfils this brief when required.
We offer two main services:
1. Renew and refresh
From a new paint colour to curtains, carpet and furniture we can integrate those pieces you wish to keep and supply new items which will transform a tired room.
2. Complete Project Service
Covers all aspects of a from concept to completion and follows the traditional procurement route.
1. The brief
The first meeting can take place either at your property or if that is not initially convenient, at our studio. Getting to know you, your lifestyle and the building is an essential part of a successful project. From this meeting we develop the brief to produce a summary of your requirements and an idea of budget.
2. Outline proposals and development of the design
After our first meeting we work with you to develop ideas, prepare an initial scheme and present you with mood boards and an idea of budget costs. Where necessary at this stage we will work with your architect or will introduce our own specialists for various aspects of the scheme.
3. Detailed design
This is where all aspects of the scheme are finalised, details agreed and estimates obtained and integrated with the budget. Drawings are prepared at this stage together with samples of materials, wall finishes and specifications for furniture and fittings.
4. Work on site and installation
We oversee the work on site in order to present you with a wonderful new interior down to the finishing touches which will make your home complete.
We look forward to working with you.
